Kong is seeking an experienced Commercial Account Executive to drive new business growth in the mid-market enterprise segment. You will be the primary point of contact for prospects, responsible for selling Kong's Konnect Platform—a unified API and AI connectivity platform trusted by Fortune 500 companies and AI-native startups.
In this role, you will own your book of business end-to-end: understanding buying criteria and processes, determining appropriate sales motions, ensuring pipeline accuracy, and working deals to closure. You'll collaborate across pre-sales, post-sales, channel partners, customer success, and leadership to drive new customer acquisition and revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities:
• Sell Kong Konnect Platform to mid-market enterprise accounts
• Meet and exceed individual quota, objectives, and KPIs
• Build and manage your territory with structured pipeline generation
• Leverage ecosystem resources to promote Kong and close new business
• Demonstrate measurable new business development and revenue generation
Requirements:
• Direct sales experience selling enterprise software to small-to-mid-size organizations
• Background in open source, APIs, and/or infrastructure software preferred
• Proven track record of new business development and exceeding sales targets
• Strong territory planning and outbound pipeline generation experience
• Excellent negotiation, presentation, and closing skills
• Effective communicator with strong interpersonal abilities
• Fluent in English and French (Spanish and/or Italian a plus)
• Knowledge of MEDDIC and Challenger sales methodologies preferred
• Experience in fast-growing startups and early-stage companies a plus
• Demonstrated ability to source and hunt net new logos creatively
