This Commercial Manager role is based in Calgary and focuses on driving end-to-end commercial expansion within the Canadian energy sector. You will execute complete sales cycles—from prospecting and product demonstrations through contract negotiation and closing—targeting both new logo acquisition and portfolio expansion with Canadian energy producers, midstream operators, and trading desks. Key responsibilities include: • Execute full-cycle sales activities: prospecting, tailored product demonstrations, contract negotiation, and closing for new and existing accounts • Build and execute multi-year strategic account plans for target Canadian energy organizations, systematically mapping decision-makers and identifying whitespace opportunities • Establish deep, multi-threaded relationships across front-office trading, commercial logistics, risk management, and executive leadership teams • Serve as the local face of Kpler in Calgary by attending industry events, networking, and building brand authority to support Canadian market expansion • Deliver tailored value propositions aligned with client-specific use cases in physical trading, supply chain optimization, risk management, and competitive analysis • Partner cross-functionally with global Product, Customer Success, and Market Analyst teams to shape account strategies, maximize renewals, and convey local market feedback You will work in a hybrid model with in-office and in-market activities, plus periodic regional and national travel. REQUIREMENTS (Must-haves): • 5+ years of combined new-business acquisition and account management experience, ideally in data/analytics, SaaS, or energy-market platforms • Deep understanding of the Canadian energy landscape, including mechanics across producers, midstream operators, marketers, and trading desks • Demonstrated track record managing full sales cycles—prospecting, demoing, negotiating, closing, and renewing/expanding mid-market or enterprise accounts • Proven ability to build and execute structured account plans and territory maps in complex sales environments • Based in Calgary, Alberta, with ability to participate in hybrid in-office/in-market activities and undertake periodic regional or national travel Nice-to-haves: • Prior experience using or selling commodity data, AIS freight/maritime tracking, or trade-flow analytics tools • Active network of commercial, trading, or risk contacts within Canadian energy companies
