Halter is a venture-backed agtech company transforming grazing management through innovative technology that enables farmers and graziers to optimize cattle operations sustainably. The company is scaling rapidly in the US market and seeks a Commercial Finance Business Partner to serve as the primary finance strategist for the US go-to-market organization. In this build role, you will be the first US-based Commercial FP&A partner, reporting to the Head of Commercial FP&A and operating with significant autonomy from the Boulder office while staying connected to headquarters in New Zealand. You'll own the commercial unit economics that drive business decisions, establish regional P&Ls as Halter enters new US markets, and provide sales and marketing teams with the financial visibility and budgets needed to execute effectively. Key responsibilities include: partnering directly with US sales, marketing, revenue operations, and commercial strategy leaders as their finance business partner; owning and defining unit economics (CAC, LTV, payback, and other SaaS metrics); building regional P&Ls and new-market financial analysis from the ground up; allocating regional budgets to sales teams and helping them manage to targets; driving the commercial narrative through penetration analysis, whitespace identification, and growth opportunity quantification; and supporting the Head of Commercial FP&A on the financial model and commercial planning inputs. You should bring strong FP&A or commercial finance experience from high-growth technology or SaaS companies, with deep command of unit economics and critical metrics. You'll need excellent financial modeling skills, commercial acumen, and the ability to partner credibly with sales and marketing leaders. Experience with Salesforce, NetSuite, CAC/LTV frameworks, US go-to-market scaling, hardware-software business models, or AI-driven financial analytics is valued. This role offers the opportunity to build the commercial finance foundation for a company on an exciting growth trajectory, with real autonomy and direct impact on strategic decisions.
