Axle Energy is building software infrastructure for the decarbonised energy system, controlling hundreds of thousands of energy assets by shifting energy usage to times when electricity is cheap and green. The company manages vehicle charging, heating systems, and home batteries at scale, backed by leading investors including Energize Capital and Accel.
You will drive go-to-market success and build a repeatable commercial motion as Axle grows. This is a foundational commercial role where you'll define sales strategy and execution for a rapidly scaling company operating in the energy sector.
Key responsibilities:
- Own new customer acquisition end-to-end, from initial conversation through commercial close
- Define and execute go-to-market strategy, including value propositions, pricing, customer segmentation, and launch strategies
- Develop and manage the growing sales pipeline
- Act as a commercial bridge between partners and internal teams, translating market and customer insights into product, pricing, and GTM inputs
- Build and refine scalable sales and partner processes supporting repeatable growth across customer segments
- Manage client onboarding and ongoing commercial relationships
- Track performance, pipeline, and outcomes using data to prioritise effort and improve commercial effectiveness
- Operate comfortably in technical conversations with customers in the energy and EV sectors
Success milestones:
- First 90 days: deep product and market knowledge, self-built pipeline of EV charging, battery, and heat-pump partners, first deal closed
- 6 months: multiple new partners signed and launched, generating revenue on platform
- 12 months: own a customer segment end-to-end, ready to expand to new markets or propositions
The role offers a meaningful equity stake alongside competitive salary, hybrid working (2-3 days/week in dog-friendly Farringdon office), enhanced parental leave, and bi-annual team retreats. The company operates with a deliberately flat structure and equitable pay (1:1 median ratio between founder and team compensation).
Requirements:
- Strong commercial instincts and sharp go-to-market mindset
- Ability to move quickly, remove friction, and adapt processes pragmatically
- Experience winning new business and managing sales pipelines
- Capability to operate comfortably in technical conversations
- Multilingual ability is a bonus
- Demonstrated ability to define and scale sales processes in growth-stage companies
