incident.io is an AI-native software reliability platform trusted by engineering teams at Netflix, Etsy, and 2,000+ companies. The company has raised $96 million from Index Ventures, Insight Partners, and Point Nine and is growing rapidly. As a Commercial Account Executive, you will own full-cycle sales with a strong outbound bias. You'll build your own pipeline from the ground up, running creative outreach campaigns and engaging directly with VP Engineering, CTO, and SRE leaders at forward-thinking digital-native companies. Deals typically range from $40k–$50k ACV with a clear path to six figures, and sales cycles average around 45 days. You'll work within a pod model alongside a BDR and Solutions Engineer, creating real partnerships with shared context and accountability. You'll also collaborate with Customer Success early in the deal cycle to ensure smooth handoffs. The role emphasizes understanding the genuine problems on-call engineers face—the stress, the 2am pages, the pressure—and translating that empathy into compelling conversations with technical leaders. Day-to-day responsibilities include prospecting and outreach without relying on templates, holding technical conversations independently (with SE support when needed), building business cases, and moving deals through a fast sales cycle. You'll be expected to bring ideas and operate with an AI-forward mindset, not just execute a playbook. The company runs a pod model and emphasizes scrappiness, autonomy, and the ability to figure things out without waiting for resources. Progression is real: Commercial AEs have moved into Enterprise roles and into management, with clear visibility into career paths. Benefits include private medical insurance, competitive annual leave, first Friday of every month off, enhanced pension, meaningful equity, unlimited AI spend for all employees, generous parental leave, £1,000 setup budget, and £500 annual professional development budget. REQUIREMENTS: - Proven track record closing deals at $40k–$50k ACV with sub-60-day sales cycles, backed by numbers - Comfort with outbound prospecting as a craft; ability to build target lists and execute creative outreach independently - Genuine curiosity about on-call engineering and the lived experience of technical leaders; demonstrated empathy for their challenges - Ability to hold technical conversations without relying on Solutions Engineer support every time - Scrappy, resourceful mindset; preference for startup environments where impact is visible and direct - Willingness to pick up the phone; comfort with cold calling and voicemail follow-up - Genuine interest in startup life as a career choice, not a stepping stone
