Clipboard Health is a Y Combinator-backed, profitable marketplace connecting healthcare professionals with facilities across the US. Founded in 2016, the company has grown to over 1,000 employees and is the leader in long-term care staffing while expanding into home health and hospitals.
The Collections Account Manager role is a critical position on the Billing team, responsible for managing billing processes for Clipboard's largest and most complex customer accounts. This role bridges finance and customer success, ensuring timely payments while maintaining strong customer relationships.
Key responsibilities include: managing a portfolio of high-value accounts; conducting high-volume outbound calls to resolve past-due balances; negotiating payment terms while balancing risk mitigation and growth; resolving customer invoice disputes; managing customer payments and remittances; building trust with healthcare executives through financial acumen; educating stakeholders on billing procedures; gathering feedback to improve billing systems; and collaborating with internal teams on billing initiatives.
Clipboard operates as a marketplace where healthcare professionals are paid immediately after shifts, while facilities pay on net terms (typically 30+ days later). This creates a lending dynamic where Clipboard finances the gap using an asset-backed credit line. The Collections team is critical to converting top-line revenue into cash, directly supporting the company's sustainability and growth.
Success in this role requires extreme ownership, curiosity to investigate root causes of billing issues, scrappiness to find innovative solutions, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment. While financial or accounting background is a plus, the company expects candidates to learn the fundamentals on the job.
The company offers competitive pay, unlimited PTO, and a fully remote work environment. System requirements include a reliable laptop/desktop, minimum 20 Mbps wired internet, wired headset, and a quiet workspace.
