Brodie League is a fast-growing adult recreational basketball community operating 30+ locations across North America with 50,000 athletes. As a City Launcher, you will open and operate a new Brodie market in Houston, serving as the face of the brand in your city and building a thriving community from zero. This role blends community building, sales, and growth marketing. You will recruit a minimum of 24 founding captains by leveraging your existing network in the local basketball scene—coaches, trainers, gym staff, run organizers, and community leaders. You'll identify and negotiate venue partnerships with local gyms, validate market demand before committing to a lease, and own the revenue and team-sign metrics in a CRM. You'll build local demand through social media, events, open runs, and partnerships with local influencers and businesses. Throughout the season, you'll attend every game night, maintain relationships with captains and players, monitor league health (retention, waitlist, feedback), and help develop the repeatable playbook for future Brodie launches. As your track record grows, you'll expand into adjacent cities within your territory. This is fundamentally a community role first—you must already be embedded in Houston's basketball culture, not just familiar with the metro area. You'll work closely with leadership across operations, growth, brand, and people. Evenings and weekends are required (game nights run roughly 7pm to midnight). You report to the Sr. Director of Growth. REQUIREMENTS: - Live in the Houston neighbourhood you're launching in, or directly adjacent (not just the metro area). - Existing network in the local basketball community: coaches, trainers, gym staff, run organizers, tournament organizers, group-chat admins. - Currently active in the game: playing in a rec league now or last season, in a gym weekly. - Standing and credibility in your scene—when you recommend something, people move. - Ability to name your first ten captains and credibility to get them on the phone. - Comfort building demand from zero (events, social, partnerships, word of mouth) with minimal budget. - Ability to close: negotiate with facility owners and captains, manage conversations from first touch to signature. - Comfort owning numbers, working in CRM, and adopting new tools quickly. - Availability for evenings and weekends. - Willingness to travel across your territory as it expands. NICE TO HAVE: - Experience running a run, league, tournament, training group, or community program. - Experience running social media for a local brand, venue, team, or community. - Background in sports, events, hospitality, fitness, lifestyle, or entertainment. - Experience selling partnerships, sponsorships, memberships, or experiential products. - 3+ years in sales, partnerships, community management, or growth (not a filter; network and credibility prioritized over title history).
