Cloudflare is seeking an exceptionally sharp, technically fluent Chief of Staff to serve as a key strategic partner and surrogate to the Chief Strategy Officer (CSO). The Strategy organization operates as a high-velocity engine at the intersection of business, technology, and go-to-market execution, driving enterprise growth, global expansion, market innovation, and strategic execution across seven core strategic pillars: Network & Infrastructure Strategy, Industry Solutions, Strategic Partnerships, International Expansion, Executive Customer Engagements, Corporate Development & M&A, and new business models for the Internet.
In this role, you will act as a trusted extension of the CSO, regularly representing her authority in critical meetings, interfacing directly with technical leaders and key customers, crafting high-impact strategic content, and driving operational alignment across the enterprise. You will ensure departmental goals are prioritized, investments are optimized, and teams are well aligned to deliver results.
Key responsibilities include: serving as an executive surrogate attending key meetings and customer discussions on the CSO's behalf; partnering as a strategic sounding board to simplify complex problems and keep focus on high-impact priorities; translating strategic vision and complex technical data into executive-ready materials and comprehensive prep for high-stakes meetings; articulating the Strategy org's impact internally and externally through thought leadership; orchestrating complex, high-impact projects across the Strategy organization; and collaborating closely with Engineering, Product, Sales, and Marketing teams to align cross-functional execution.
The ideal candidate brings 10+ years of combined experience across investment banking, management consulting, or Big Tech in roles such as Technical Assistant, Product Manager, Business Development, or Chief of Staff. You possess deep technical product fluency, sharp business acumen, natural curiosity, and the ability to step into executive conversations at a moment's notice. You excel at translating complex technical concepts for business audiences and have demonstrated success driving strategic initiatives in fast-paced, high-growth environments.
