Salary: USD 158,400 - 198,000 / annual
Scale AI is seeking a Chief of Staff for its Public Sector Engineering business unit, reporting to the VP of Public Sector Engineering. This is a strategic operational role focused on driving execution of critical initiatives and optimizing the business unit's operational rhythm.
Key responsibilities include:
- Serve as a strategic extension of the VP, attending key meetings, supporting client development, external presentations, and special projects
- Lead strategic planning for the business unit, including scoping priorities, driving alignment across VP of Engineering, Sales, and Operations leadership, and championing initiatives tied to key performance indicators
- Own operational rhythms including leadership meetings, all-hands gatherings, and offsite events
- Manage all executive-level reporting that communicates progress and blockers; serve as primary liaison to finance, communications, marketing, and legal functions
- Synthesize complex information to support Public Sector objectives and growth
Ideal candidates bring:

Nice-to-haves include Top Secret U.S. security clearance, 4+ years in strategic/analytical/operational roles, 2+ years in top-tier consulting/VC/tech, MBA/JD/technical degree from top program, and proficiency with Python, SQL, or similar analytical tools.
