Ellevation Education seeks a Chief of Staff to partner directly with the CEO and serve on the leadership team. This role sits at the intersection of people, strategy, and execution, with responsibility for culture, internal communications, and supporting the R&D organization. Key responsibilities include: **Internal Communications**: Own all internal communications to ensure every employee understands company strategy, progress, and their role. Plan and produce all-company meetings, write and edit CEO messages, and build a predictable rhythm of updates across Slack, email, and live forums. Lead communication around important announcements and changes, helping leaders deliver difficult news with clarity and care. **Culture and In-Person Connection**: Partner with the people team and executive team to build a culture reflecting the company's commitment to belonging. Define the purpose of in-office days, design team and company gatherings that build real connection, oversee planning of the annual all-company event and leadership offsites, and support leadership development initiatives. Manage the Culture & Events Manager. **Partnership with CEO and Leadership**: Serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO, managing information flow to and from the executive office. Coordinate leadership team agendas and represent the team in meetings when needed. Drive special projects from concept to execution, building project plans and tracking milestones. Partner with the Chief Product Technology Officer to support culture and execution initiatives across R&D. **First-Year Milestones**: Complete a listening tour across the company in month one; evaluate leadership information cascading and recommend improvements by month three; introduce a clear purpose for in-office time and set up employee feedback loops by month six; deliver lasting systems for communications and culture, including an all-company gathering and leadership offsite, with measurable gains in employee engagement by year-end. The role requires regular in-office presence in Boston and travel for leadership offsites, company gatherings, and occasional meetings with Curriculum Associates (the parent organization). **Requirements**: 8+ years of experience in roles such as chief of staff, internal communications, strategy and operations, or program leadership, ideally in a growing software or education company. Demonstrated experience working closely with senior executives with a track record of being discreet, direct, and reliable. Exceptional writing and communication skills with ability to translate complex decisions into clear, warm, honest messages. Proven track record building culture and engagement programs that people value. Familiarity with product development to partner credibly with product and engineering leaders. Strong emotional intelligence, comfort with raising hard topics with senior leaders, and alignment with company values. Deep curiosity about improving English learning and customer outcomes (education background not required but curiosity is essential). Experience at a company operating inside a larger parent organization is a plus.
