Salary: USD 300,000 - 375,000 / annual
Orchard is transforming residential real estate by modernizing the home buying and selling process. The company operates a network of 600+ agents, has 150+ employees, and has achieved nearly 2x year-over-year growth. Backed by top-tier investors including Firstmark and Revolution Growth, Orchard is approaching profitability in Q4 2026.
As Chief Financial Officer, you will lead Orchard's finance organization through its next chapter of profitable growth. Reporting directly to CEO Court Cunningham, you'll manage the FP&A, Strategic Finance, and Accounting teams (8 people) and serve as a critical operating partner to the executive leadership team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing and developing the finance team to deliver rigorous business insight and financial analysis
- Building a culture of financial discipline that balances high growth with profitability
- Fostering intelligent, calculated risk-taking across the organization
- Partnering with other departments to support their success and drive commercially savvy decision-making
- Leading disciplined budgeting and accurate forecasting
- Championing Orchard's values and workplace culture in the market
- Guiding the company toward sustainable, profitable growth
You should have 10+ years of financial leadership experience, systems thinking capability, and an investor's mindset—able to zoom between big-picture strategy and granular detail. An entrepreneurial, action-oriented approach is essential in this fast-moving environment. Strong communication skills, customer focus, and comfort with decision-making under uncertainty are critical. M&A experience is a plus.
The role is based in New York City but remote options are available for candidates in Denver, CO or Austin, TX.
