8Fleet is a Los Angeles-based technology and logistics company building operational infrastructure for modern rideshare fleets (autonomous and non-autonomous). The company operates in Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego, Atlanta, and Miami, with expansion planned.
The Central Operations Associate role supports the Head of Central Operations in identifying, diagnosing, and implementing operational improvements across all 8Fleet markets. This is an early-career role offering real exposure to how physical operations scale.
Work focuses on two core areas:
1. Driver Experience: Analyze driver feedback, retention trends, onboarding friction, shift management, and vehicle handoff processes. Translate findings into initiatives that improve the driver experience and measure impact on retention, satisfaction, and performance.
2. Cost Optimization: Identify savings opportunities across vehicles, maintenance, claims, labor, and vendor spend through data analysis. Build data-backed recommendations, present to leadership, and own implementation through to results.
Key responsibilities include:
- Analyze driver experience data to identify friction points and root causes
- Develop, roll out, and measure impact of driver experience initiatives
- Identify and quantify cost-saving opportunities across operations
- Build clear, data-backed recommendations and present to leadership
- Own follow-up through implementation and results tracking
- Track central KPIs and savings against targets; flag anomalies early
- Build dashboards, trackers, and reports for visibility into initiative performance
- Partner with market teams to scale successful initiatives across all markets
- Maintain playbooks and standard operating procedures
- Take ownership of specific initiatives, metrics, or workstreams as you grow
The role requires working cross-functionally with teams that don't report to you, reading operational data fluently, and understanding cost and driver satisfaction drivers.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 1–3 years of experience in operations, analytics, consulting, or similar fast-paced, data-driven role
- Proficiency with spreadsheets and genuine interest in data interpretation
- Track record of turning analysis into action (made recommendations and seen them through)
- Empathy for front-line workers; care about how changes impact drivers
- Strong attention to detail
- Clear written and verbal communication; ability to explain findings to non-technical audiences
- Bias toward action and comfort operating without established playbooks
- Willingness to travel to markets periodically
- Bachelor's degree required
- SQL or BI tools experience is a plus
