Salary: USD 139,000 - 145,000 / annual

Carbon Health is seeking a full-time Center Medical Director (CMD) to lead and develop a clinical team at their urgent care center in La Habra, CA. This hybrid clinical-leadership role combines approximately 30 hours per week of direct patient care with meaningful management responsibilities. In this position, you will partner closely with the Center Manager and Area Medical Director to build a high-performing, collaborative clinical team while maintaining a strong focus on patient care, quality, safety, and patient experience. Key responsibilities include mentoring and supporting clinical development of providers, participating in hiring and onboarding, providing meaningful feedback, and creating an environment where clinicians feel supported, empowered, and accountable. You will also contribute to quality improvement initiatives and escalation management with operational support from your leadership team. Carbon Health operates a national network of urgent care clinics and has developed CarbyOS, a proprietary electronic health record (EHR) system designed to reduce administrative burden and empower providers to focus on patient care. Compensation includes a base salary of $139,000–$145,000 annually, plus a leadership stipend (up to $15,720–$40,600 per year), productivity incentives up to 28%, and a 6.1% weekend and holiday differential. REQUIREMENTS: - Physician Assistant: Current PA license and national certification (PANCE or equivalent). - Nurse Practitioner: Current RN and NP licensure and national certification. - Minimum 2 years of experience in urgent care, emergency medicine, or similar clinical setting. - Minimum 1 year of leadership experience in a healthcare setting. - Active and unrestricted California medical license. - BLS certification. - Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills. - Demonstrated ability to build trusting relationships and collaborate effectively across clinical and operational teams. - Commitment to clinical excellence, patient safety, and positive patient experience. - DOT certification must be obtained prior to start date (Carbon Health covers course and examination fees).
