Adyen is a global financial technology platform providing payments, data, and financial products for enterprise customers including Meta, Uber, H&M, and Microsoft. The company is seeking a CDD Risk & Onboarding Analyst to join the Merchants Operations department in Amsterdam, working within the Underwriting team.
In this role, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive risk assessments during merchant onboarding, evaluating potential and existing merchants across multiple risk dimensions including anti-money laundering (AML), reputational risk, regulatory compliance, and fraud prevention. You will review customer profiles including business models, ownership structures, and legal entity details to ensure Adyen maintains a healthy merchant portfolio while supporting business growth.
Key responsibilities include:
- Performing detailed risk assessments during the onboarding process based on comprehensive customer profiles
- Establishing and monitoring procedures related to merchant onboarding and changes
- Executing merchant changes requiring updates to client data
- Supporting and training colleagues on onboarding processes and compliance procedures
- Collaborating with Commercial and Product teams to address merchant questions regarding onboarding requirements and restricted products
You will work cross-functionally with Sales, Account Management, Compliance, Monitoring, and Product/Development teams. A significant portion of this role involves scaling internal processes, optimizing workflows, and driving automation initiatives to support the company's growth while maintaining regulatory compliance.
Required qualifications include 3-5 years of experience in CDD, AML, or KYC functions, with financial services or banking experience preferred. You should be a fast decision-maker capable of weighing competing interests, a self-starter comfortable in fast-paced tech environments, and possess strong analytical skills with a solid understanding of risks relevant to licensed banking operations. Cross-functional and global communication abilities are essential.
