This role leads the Coins & Banknotes category, a significant business segment built on history, scarcity, trust, and long-term value. The category encompasses ancient coins, gold with provenance, rare mint errors, investment-grade slabs, and historically significant pieces.
As Category Manager, you will own the P&L and define long-term growth strategy for this category. Key responsibilities include: executing revenue and margin targets with disciplined decision-making; translating complex market data into clear commercial priorities; leading, coaching, and developing a large international expert team; creating clarity and accountability within a growing organization; anticipating and responding to market trends, seasonality, and investment cycles; building and maintaining strong relationships with key sellers; strengthening the seller pipeline in partnership with Sales; and working cross-functionally to unlock sustainable growth.
You will report to senior leadership and influence strategy across the organization. The role requires managing larger teams with multiple direct reports, holding ground in commercial negotiations while maintaining long-term partnerships, and operating with composure through market volatility.
Required experience includes proven success in consumer goods markets with deep understanding of market dynamics and cycles; managing larger teams; strong seller/supplier relationship management; senior leadership presence (calm, grounded, decisive); strong analytical skills and P&L ownership; ability to cut through complexity; and confidence influencing senior stakeholders. Interest in coins, banknotes, history, or collecting is a plus.
