Salary: CAD 95,000 - 110,000 / annual

iCapital is expanding its Canadian marketplace and seeking an experienced tax professional to join the Operations and Investment Product Management team. This newly created role will support the company's Canada expansion strategy and service all Canadian access funds for tax compliance matters. Key responsibilities include managing the full cycle of Canadian income and indirect tax compliance by coordinating with external tax service providers, fund administrators, and internal teams. You will assist in monitoring investor tax slip inquiries (T3, T5013, T5008, NR4) and coordinate with external advisors on Canadian income tax returns, SLFI returns, and US tax returns. The role involves fund tax structuring discussions, ensuring documentation is accurate and well-maintained. You will be responsible for CRA and Revenue Quebec registration and account opening for feeder funds, maintaining tax accounts, and handling correspondence with revenue agencies. Additional duties include coordinating with fund administrators and finance teams to streamline tax payment processes, managing tax notices (sorting, scanning, logging), and ensuring timely communication with the CRA. The position requires coordinating with internal teams and external service providers to ensure tax slips are posted successfully, tracking and retrieving tax documents (tax estimates, K-1s), and assisting external tax service providers in collecting information for return filings. You will create and maintain investment portal access for portfolio investments and manage tax-related mail correspondence. The role also involves creating and documenting clear tax operations procedures for external service providers and internal teams. Required qualifications include a bachelor's degree and experience in fund tax and CRA interactions in investment funds or asset management environments. You should be willing to learn new topics, work effectively with cross-functional teams, and possess strong Excel skills. The ideal candidate is organized, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and comfortable learning new systems and technology.
