Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is seeking a Calibration Engineer to lead improvements to its internal calibration program in Costa Mesa, CA. This role sits within the Quality Engineering team and partners across product development, production, and field operations.
You will drive strategic enhancements to calibration processes, including measuring process performance, managing tracking software, maintaining equipment schedules, ensuring accuracy and precision, managing equipment history and traceability, and supporting accreditation and reporting. Key responsibilities include:
• Analyze and drive improvements in core calibration activities for calibrated devices
• Define project milestones, develop execution plans, and monitor progress against quality standards
• Create and implement a strategic in-house calibration roadmap, analyzing processes and optimizing between external vendors and internal capabilities
• Evaluate and implement new technologies and methods to improve calibration efficiency
• Manage the calibration database, updating equipment locations, owners, and status
• Improve equipment rotation processes to prevent production bottlenecks
• Enhance infrastructure for equipment flagged for calibration, including drop locations, intake standardization, and vendor instructions
• Support creation and maintenance of calibration procedures, documentation, and training for internal stakeholders
• Conduct spot audits for compliance and support global site readiness reviews for internal and external audits
Required qualifications include an Associate's degree in Science/Engineering or equivalent technical field, and proven experience managing calibration in large organizations and production environments. You must have experience with third-party calibration vendors, automated calibration tools and software, and process improvement—particularly around calibration. In-depth knowledge of AS9100 and AS6500 standards is essential. Strong leadership, project management, problem-solving, and communication skills across multiple sites are critical. U.S. TS/SCI security clearance eligibility required.
