Pico is a global financial technology company headquartered in New York, with offices in Chicago, London, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Tokyo. The company provides market data services and managed infrastructure solutions to the global capital markets community, helping clients efficiently scale their business and access markets.
You will join a world-leading engineering team working on the design and development of new features across Pico's entire product range. The company is at an exciting stage with extensive innovative work underway. Pico's technology is used to understand customers' market positions in capital markets, monitor network backbone performance, debug application performance, capture and provide access to historical market data, provide normalized real-time market data feeds, and monitor voice over IP call quality.
In this role, you will help bring this technology into new markets and new deployment models. You will solve problems encountered when analyzing the firehose of network data in real time and providing solutions for consumers of real-time and historical, raw and normalized market data.
The position is hybrid with weekly time in the office and flexibility to work from home. Travel may be required from time to time but is not expected to be regular or frequent. You will be expected to work whatever hours are necessary for the performance of this role, recognizing that it involves multiple jurisdictions and geographies including EMEA, USA, and APAC.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
- 2-3 years of development experience
- Expert proficiency in C++ development under Linux (required)
- Experience with Python, shell scripting, makefiles, etc.
- Understanding of algorithms and design patterns
- Multi-threaded application development experience
- Automated testing (unit testing, integration testing)
- Linux-based development environments, including tools such as gdb and valgrind
- IP networking knowledge
