Cloudflare's FinTech Engineering team is seeking a Business Systems Analyst to own the intersection of billing systems, fraud prevention, and operations. This role manages the financial and operational backbone that processes millions of customer transactions daily, ensuring billing accuracy, fraud prevention, and smooth product launches.
Day-to-day responsibilities include investigating fraud and payment abuse by analyzing suspicious patterns and working with Data Science to build repeatable detection; owning root cause analysis for billing issues across invoices, subscriptions, entitlements, taxation, and payments; ensuring new product integrations bill correctly from payment through revenue accounting; managing month-end reconciliation between billing and accounting systems; designing scalable solutions to replace manual work with automation and AI tooling; writing SQL queries and Python scripts for analysis and bulk operations; and running cross-functional programs to drive high-impact problem areas to measurable outcomes.
You will work closely with engineers, finance, support, trust and safety, and product teams. The role offers real visibility and impact: problems are unsolved rather than pre-scoped, the surface area is large, and work directly translates to revenue protection, fraud prevention, and operational efficiency. You'll have ownership from day one with minimal hand-holding, and the opportunity to meaningfully improve systems and processes.
Required qualifications include experience at a high-scale technology business (ideally with self-serve motion), a track record of owning ambiguous problems end-to-end and driving them to measurable outcomes, strong SQL proficiency and comfort with large datasets, familiarity with Python for scripting and light automation, and solid understanding of system integration patterns including APIs, webhooks, and event-driven flows.
