The Business Segment Lead role is a strategic general management position responsible for achieving market leadership within a designated business segment (defined by customer size or industry vertical). This is a transversal influence role operating under distributed ownership principles. Key responsibilities include: (1) Building market expertise through quantitative sizing and qualitative customer insights analysis; (2) Developing and refining value propositions and pricing strategies to differentiate Alan's offerings; (3) Designing and executing go-to-market strategies covering both account renewal and expansion, including distribution channels and partner management; (4) Owning segment P&L and building the business case for internal resource allocation; (5) Collaborating with product teams to inform product roadmap decisions based on market intelligence. The role requires close collaboration across Product, Insurance, Sales, and Marketing teams, as well as peer coordination with other segment leaders to share best practices and align on long-term value creation. Ideal candidates bring 8+ years of business leadership experience (product category, business segment, or equivalent), full French proficiency and advanced English, exceptional ability to influence across organizational boundaries, strong data analysis skills, business acumen combined with product thinking, and comfort operating in complexity. The role values generalists who can adapt quickly, self-starters willing to work in the field, and those with prior senior leadership exposure. Candidates must be based in or willing to relocate to Paris, Bordeaux, Lyon, Marseille, Brussels, Madrid, or Barcelona. Compensation is in the E-F level range per Alan's salary equity framework.
