Salary: USD 100,000 - 130,000 / annual
Chaos is building a Business Operations team that deploys on complex, cross-functional problems spanning multiple areas of the business. Team members embed with other teams, learn each problem in depth, work alongside them to improve it, and then move on to the next project. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in high-execution environments and enjoys translating strategy into measurable outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with business units to translate company-level goals into functional objectives and measurable deliverables
- Design metrics and systems for calculating, tracking, and reporting on those metrics
- Analyze results and use that analysis to make suggestions for how to improve
- Deep dive into business areas and become a subject matter expert as quickly as possible
- Help teams create an operating cadence
- Resolve execution friction between teams
- Support cross-functional initiatives and drive operational excellence
You should be comfortable with quantitative work and tools such as Excel, Palantir Foundry, or Python. Nearly every problem will involve metrics definition and multi-angle analysis. You'll need intellectual curiosity to understand how different parts of the business work, and a people-focused mindset to recognize that most problems have a human component.

Requirements:
- Track record of excelling in high-execution environments. Experience in this exact role is not required, but professional experience is necessary. Examples of relevant backgrounds include specialized military units, top law firms or investment banks, professional sports, elite musical performance, or fast-paced startups.
- Strong quantitative skills and comfort with math-heavy analysis and software tools (Excel, Palantir Foundry, Python, or similar)
- Intellectual curiosity and demonstrated interest in understanding how systems and organizations work
- People skills and ability to understand human behavior and influence outcomes
- Strong grades at a demanding school are a positive signal, but professional experience is essential
