Waymark is a healthcare technology company on a mission to bring high-quality care to Medicaid patients by equipping primary care providers with technology-enabled support and tools. The Business Operations Director & Chief of Staff is a senior strategic operator reporting to the Head of Operations and partnering closely with the CEO and executive leadership team.
This role owns three interconnected mandates: (1) the company's strategic planning and management system, including multi-year vision, annual/quarterly planning cycles, OKR setting and tracking, and executive operating rhythm; (2) company and internal communications, including strategy narratives, all-company meetings, executive announcements, board materials, and cascading decisions across the organization; and (3) the design and continuous improvement of core business processes that keep a scaling organization coordinated and accountable.
Key responsibilities include owning the strategic planning system and translating company strategy into clear goals and resource allocation; driving the OKR process end-to-end with objective setting, progress monitoring, and corrective action; running the executive operating rhythm including leadership meetings, decision tracking, and quarterly business reviews; providing executive leadership with performance insights and recommendations; developing and executing the company's internal communications strategy and calendar; planning and producing all-company meetings and events; drafting high-stakes executive communications and board narratives; serving as a conduit between executive team and broader organization; designing and improving core operating processes including decision-making infrastructure, approval workflows, and cross-functional coordination; identifying organizational friction and process gaps; and serving as a versatile utility player for the executive team on high-priority cross-functional initiatives.
This role blends strategic altitude with hands-on execution, requiring someone who can move fluidly between big-picture thinking and operational detail, and who thrives in ambiguous, high-stakes problem spaces.
