The company partners with major brands like eBay, Spotify, Klarna, Uber, and Sony to enable seamless digital payment experiences at scale. In this Business Development Representative role, you will serve as a strategic partner to the Sales team, combining deep industry expertise with AI-driven insights to identify and engage high-value merchant opportunities in the global payments landscape. This is not a transactional lead-generation role—you will act as a consultant and strategic advisor to prospective clients. Key Responsibilities: - Develop deep technical understanding of Checkout.com's product suite and global payment trends to advise merchants on their payment challenges and opportunities. - Conduct strategic account mapping and research into organizational structures and competitive landscapes to identify high-value targets. - Lead advanced discovery conversations that uncover genuine technical and business challenges, moving beyond surface-level pitches. - Maintain a high-performing outreach rhythm with consistent excellence and contribute to a high-standard team environment. - Partner closely with Sales to move deals through the funnel, providing follow-up support and maintaining momentum through financial go-lives. - Collaborate cross-functionally with Solutions Engineering, Underwriting, and Product teams to align stakeholders and accelerate sales cycles. - Leverage AI-driven sales technology (Salesforce, intent-data tools, advanced analytics) to optimize lead generation, territory planning, and pipeline accuracy. - Apply data-backed territory management using qualification frameworks like MEDDIC and maintain Salesforce as a source of truth. The role is hybrid with three days per week in the Barcelona office to support collaboration and connection. Requirements: - Native German or Polish language proficiency (essential) - Proactive ownership mentality with end-to-end accountability for territory and outcomes - Intellectual curiosity and relentless drive to learn complex financial technology and industry dynamics - Exceptional communication and presence skills (written, verbal, in-person) with confidence engaging stakeholders from product leads to C-suite executives - Technical fluency and desire to leverage latest sales technology and AI tools - Exceptional resilience with fundamentally positive approach to setbacks - Coachability with track record of seeking and implementing feedback - High attention to detail combined with commitment to excellence in fast-paced environment - Team-oriented mindset with focus on collective success and supportive collaboration
