Atrato is a fintech startup founded in 2019 and backed by Y Combinator, Accel, and Architect Capital. The company provides financial tools for merchants and consumers across Latin America, with two main products: Atrato Pago (point-of-sale financing for merchants offering installment plans up to 24 months for amounts up to 200,000 MXN) and Atrato Cash (personal credit for existing customers). The company has grown rapidly and serves merchants across furniture, electronics, medical services, and other verticals.
As a Business Development Representative, you will be the first point of contact for potential merchant partners. Your mission is to identify, contact, qualify, and close merchants who can benefit from Atrato's financing solutions. You will manage the complete sales cycle from prospecting through merchant activation and onboarding.
Key responsibilities include:
- Prospecting and developing new merchants by identifying and contacting businesses with potential to join the Atrato network
- Qualifying and closing opportunities by evaluating merchant viability and guiding them through signature and activation
- Building and maintaining strategic relationships as the initial point of contact to strengthen trust with commercial partners
- Coordinating product demonstrations and onboarding processes, connecting merchants with appropriate teams for successful launch
- Collaborating closely with sales and marketing teams to share market insights and support acquisition campaigns
- Reporting key performance metrics including lead volume, conversion rates, closed merchants, and sales cycle time
- Managing CRM tools and automation platforms to maintain pipeline visibility and opportunity traceability

REQUIREMENTS:
- Proven commercial experience of 3+ years in prospecting, business development, or B2B sales, ideally in fintech, SaaS, retail, or financial services
- Ability to open and close opportunities: manage the complete sales cycle from identification through merchant affiliation
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written): generate interest, build trust, and convert conversations into real opportunities
- High motivation and resilience: prospecting is demanding; ability to stay focused and maintain positive energy facing challenges
- Organization and follow-up: manage multiple accounts at different stages with impeccable pipeline management
- Analytical mindset: evaluate results, measure conversion, and propose improvements
- Knowledge of financing, retail, or consumer industry markets (preferred)
- CRM and sales engagement tools proficiency (required)
