EatClub is a food & drink marketplace platform that connects restaurants and bars with customers seeking dining deals and experiences. The company operates in Australia with over 4 million customers and 8,000+ venue partners, and was recognized as Australia's Fastest Growing Tech Company by the AFR in 2025. The platform helps venues fill empty tables, increase foot traffic, and maximize revenue through real-time deals and customer discovery.
As a Business Development Manager for the Restaurants vertical in Adelaide, you will own and build a territory from day one with no shadow period. Your primary responsibility is to prospect, pitch, and close new restaurant and bar partnerships across Adelaide and surrounding South Australia regions. You will spend most of your time in the field meeting venue owners and operators face-to-face, introducing EatClub's platform, and demonstrating how it drives customer acquisition and revenue for hospitality venues.
Key responsibilities include:
- Prospecting new restaurant partners through walk-ins, cold calls, and scheduled meetings
- Delivering product pitches that clearly articulate EatClub's value proposition to venue owners
- Building and managing a high-volume pipeline of opportunities in your territory
- Negotiating and closing commercial agreements independently
- Onboarding newly signed venues and supporting their initial campaigns
- Maintaining accurate CRM records and tracking pipeline activity
- Hitting 15+ outbound activities daily (calls, walk-ins, booked meetings combined)
- Monitoring and reporting on key metrics: conversion rate, daily activity volume, weekly pipeline value
- Sharing market insights and venue feedback to inform broader EatClub strategy
- Supporting new city launches and market expansion initiatives across Australia
The role offers high autonomy, uncapped commission with strong earning potential (top performers make $200k OTE), clear career progression as the company scales, and exposure to international expansion. You will have direct access to leadership and work within a collaborative, high-performance culture.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Proven track record in a high-volume, target-driven role with specific, documented KPI attainment, conversion rates, and average deal cycle times
- Comfort with high outbound activity including cold outreach and in-person conversations
- Experience managing a pipeline and progressing deals independently
- Confidence in presenting solutions and negotiating commercial agreements
- Background that demonstrates resilience in high-rejection environments (door-to-door, car sales, sports, or high-volume outbound roles)
- Ability to articulate your performance metrics without reference materials
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Prior experience in hospitality, food tech, SaaS, or marketplace businesses
- Strong network within the hospitality industry
- Experience launching or growing new markets or territories
KEY TRAITS:
- Driven and persistent; motivated even when deals take time
- Competitive and performance-oriented; energized by clear targets and measurable results
- Curious and thoughtful; asks good questions to understand venue operations
- Disciplined in managing time, territory, and pipeline
- Quick to learn and adapt; receptive to feedback
- Committed to building a sales career in a high-growth business
- Able to transition between high-volume outbound and in-person closing without losing energy
- Energized by building from scratch rather than maintaining existing business
- Instinctively returns to fundamentals when deals stall
NOT SUITABLE IF: You prefer desk-based or fully remote work, are uncomfortable with cold outreach or face-to-face selling, avoid targets and performance accountability, need highly structured days with minimal autonomy, are not open to flexible hours aligned with hospitality service times, seek the stability and processes of a large established tech company, or cannot articulate your performance metrics from your last role.
