ApplyBoard is seeking a Business Development Manager to drive growth within its recruitment partner ecosystem in Lagos. You will own and nurture a diverse portfolio of recruitment partners, serving as their strategic advocate and trusted advisor throughout the partnership lifecycle—from onboarding through expansion. Your core responsibilities include leading relationship management, ensuring enrollment delivery targets are met, and increasing partner engagement and wallet share through personalized support, targeted training, and data-driven performance conversations.
Day-to-day, you will act as an ambassador for ApplyBoard's mission and services to educational agents, international institutions, and prospective students. You'll develop a deep understanding of ApplyBoard's value proposition and communicate it effectively to a diverse audience. You will develop and execute strategies to increase international student enrollment, recruiting from a wide array of regions. Building and maintaining strong relationships with agents is central to the role—you'll negotiate terms, provide comprehensive training, and maintain active engagement through consistent communication. You'll guide agents to improve the quality and volume of student applications while ensuring adherence to ApplyBoard's standards.
You will leverage CRM and social media platforms to share key messages, disseminate information, and drive engagement among potential and current students. You'll develop and implement data-driven recruitment and marketing strategies informed by market research to optimize ApplyBoard's international outreach. The role offers high-impact collaboration with Sales, Marketing, and Product teams in a fast-paced, autonomous environment, with tangible wins as you turn partnerships into scalable revenue engines. You'll work to expand ApplyBoard's international presence, ensuring that more students worldwide gain access to quality education.
Requirements:
- 2–3 years of experience managing recruitment or enterprise accounts, ideally within the international education sector
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Marketing, Education) preferred
- Fluent in English; additional language skills are an asset
- Ability to engage and motivate diverse stakeholders (students, educational agents) with clear and persuasive communication
- Self-starter who thrives in collaborative, team-based environments and works effectively independently
- Excellent organizational skills with talent for managing priorities and ensuring accuracy
- Resourceful problem-solver capable of navigating complex situations
- Proficient in CRM systems; experience with social media and digital engagement tools is an advantage
