Caliza is building commercial banking infrastructure for cross-border businesses. The platform consolidates multiple banks, FX providers, and spreadsheets into a single API, enabling customers to hold USD accounts, collect and pay in 33+ currencies, and convert between fiat and stablecoins over local rails, SWIFT, or blockchain in minutes instead of days. The company is also building a treasury layer with programmable accounts, approval policies, automated reconciliation, and working capital management. In this role, you will open and own the Argentine market for Caliza, landing anchor customers and then expanding into Chile, Uruguay, and Paraguay (the Southern Cone). You will own the regional revenue target and shape how Caliza grows in a market where USD access and fast local-currency payouts are critical. You will report to the Director of Business Development, work closely with the CEO, and partner with Compliance, Product, Legal, and Operations to onboard customers quickly and safely. Key responsibilities include: - Own the Southern Cone territory with Argentina as the core market and Chile, Uruguay, and Paraguay as expansion markets, focusing on key corridors: Southern Cone–US, Southern Cone–China, and Southern Cone–Brazil. - Target software and service exporters, freelancer and payroll platforms, fintechs, crypto exchanges, and investment platforms in Argentina; fintechs, PSPs, and exporters in Chile; regional headquarters and free-zone companies in Uruguay; and trading companies and importers in Paraguay. - Sell USD accounts, stablecoin rails, FX services, and fast local-currency payouts, positioning Caliza against local FX controls, liquidity constraints, and informal alternatives. - Build pipeline from scratch in each market, running full sales cycles from discovery through pricing, contract negotiation, onboarding, and first live transactions. - Negotiate commercial terms including basis-point pricing, FX spreads, and volume tiers using existing templates. - Maintain accurate pipeline, activity, and forecasts in HubSpot, tracking metrics such as pipeline coverage, win rate, time to first transaction, and monthly volume. - Work with Customer Success, Operations, and Compliance to ensure smooth handoffs and share prospect feedback to refine the sales process. - Feed market insights into Product and Partnerships to shape the ARS corridor roadmap, including collections capabilities. Requirements: - 10+ years in sales or business development at a fintech, payments company, crypto business, or bank, ideally in Argentina or the Southern Cone. - Proven track record selling to software and service exporters, freelancer and payroll platforms, fintechs, crypto exchanges, and importers, with demonstrated quota attainment across full sales cycles. - Existing relationship base with senior professionals in Argentine and Southern Cone fintech, payments, or crypto sectors. - Clear understanding of the value stablecoins and blockchain bring to cross-border payments. - Data-driven approach, strong negotiation and presentation skills, and excellent follow-through. - Comfort working in a fast-paced, resource-constrained startup environment and adapting to local business cultures. - Professional working fluency in Spanish and English. - Based in or within two hours of Buenos Aires, with ability to overlap a few hours daily with US Eastern and Brazil time zones. Nice to have: - Prior startup experience. - Deep understanding of Argentine fintech and crypto landscape and relevant regulations (BCRA FX rules, CNV). - Proficiency in Portuguese. - Experience with HubSpot, Slack, Notion, Google Workspace, and modern AI tools (e.g., Claude).
