Odyssey partners with state agencies to design, launch, and operate Education Savings Account (ESA) and school choice programs. The company operates across 10 states, powering programs serving 250,000+ students and over $2B in annual education funding. Odyssey sits at the intersection of GovTech, EdTech, and FinTech, combining technology, program operations, vendor ecosystem management, and family experience. This Business Development & GTM Associate role reports directly to the Chief Commercial Officer and is designed for someone transitioning from advising organizations to helping build one. You will drive the company's next phase of growth by working across the full go-to-market lifecycle. Key responsibilities include: building and managing the sales pipeline by identifying prospective customers, partners, and opportunities through research and outreach; owning CRM hygiene and GTM operations to maintain accurate pipeline data and reporting; creating polished presentations, pitch decks, proposals, and market analyses; advancing business development opportunities by developing account plans and managing complex sales cycles; supporting government procurements including RFIs and RFPs; preparing executives for external meetings and conducting background research; and handling day-to-day GTM operations including trackers, scheduling, and follow-ups. This is a high-ownership role combining strategic and tactical work. You will have broad exposure to how Odyssey identifies markets, develops relationships, competes, and wins major government programs. This is not a traditional sales development role—you won't work from call scripts but instead gain deep insight into government sales and program launch. Requirements: 2–5 years of professional experience, ideally in management consulting, strategy, business operations, technology, or another rigorous and fast-paced environment. Excellent structured problem-solving skills and ability to quickly master unfamiliar markets. Exceptional writing and communication abilities with strong presentation skills. Highly organized with meticulous attention to details, deadlines, and follow-ups. Experience building market-sizing analyses, business cases, financial models, or executive presentations. Comfortable with data and spreadsheet analysis. Strong commercial instincts and interest in understanding customer acquisition and competitive dynamics. Strong sense of ownership and ability to operate with ambiguity. Ability to manage multiple priorities and exercise judgment. Proficiency with AI and modern productivity tools. Genuine excitement about Odyssey's mission. Must be comfortable working 3–4 days per week onsite in NYC office. Must be open to domestic travel up to 20%. Nice to have: experience at leading management consulting firms, supporting C-Suite executives, growth strategy or go-to-market work, public-sector engagements, state/local government procurements, Salesforce/HubSpot or CRM experience, exposure to technology, government, education, financial services, or regulated industries.
