Firestorm is a Series A defense technology company building contested logistics and small unmanned aerial systems (sUAS) for U.S. Special Operations and Central Command. As Business Development Director for SOCOM & CENTCOM, you will own customer engagement, capture, and growth across these critical military accounts. You'll be the primary interface between Firestorm and operators, program managers, acquisition staff, and component commands—translating warfighter problems into Firestorm capabilities and structuring those capabilities into funded programs of record, OTAs, and rapid acquisition contracts. Key responsibilities include developing and executing account strategy across SOCOM (USASOC, NAVSPECWARCOM, AFSOC, MARSOC, JSOC) and CENTCOM; identifying and qualifying opportunities in contested logistics and sUAS; establishing trusted relationships with operators and acquisition leaders; converting mission gaps into capability briefs and demonstration concepts; driving opportunities through SOFWERX, SOCOM Vulcan, DIU, AFWERX, OTAs, and traditional FAR vehicles; building teaming arrangements with primes and non-traditionals; representing Firestorm at industry events; and maintaining rigorous CRM discipline with accurate forecasting and executive reporting. You'll operate with high autonomy in a startup environment, requiring comfort with ambiguity and minimal supervision. Travel is expected at 30–50%, including occasional forward-deployed customer visits. Prior SOF or CENTCOM operational experience is a strong differentiator but not required; the company values both former operators and industry BD professionals with credibility in the defense acquisition community. Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree, U.S. citizenship (ITAR), active Secret Clearance with ability to obtain Top Secret, 5+ years of defense BD/capture/program management or equivalent uniformed/civilian acquisition/requirements/operations experience with SOCOM/CENTCOM, knowledge of combatant command structures and budget cycles, experience moving opportunities from lead to funded contracts via non-traditional pathways, and working knowledge of contested logistics, sUAS, autonomy, or adjacent areas. Preferred: prior SOF/military service with CENTCOM operational time, existing relationships with key SOCOM PEOs, hands-on sUAS or expeditionary logistics experience, experience standing up new defense accounts, or advanced degree in defense/policy.
