Aviso, a leading Canadian wealth management organization, is seeking a Business Analytics Specialist to join its IT Business Analytics Team. Reporting to the Manager of Business Analytics, you will play a key role in supporting analytics functions across the organization.
Your primary responsibilities will include maintaining and distributing established business analytics reports to internal and external stakeholders, conducting ad-hoc data mining and analysis to support decision-making, and preparing monthly financial performance reports for senior management. You will leverage a combination of business acumen and technical expertise to enhance reporting solutions and oversee light project management for analytics initiatives.
Key day-to-day activities include:
- Updating and distributing business reporting for key decision makers
- Performing ad-hoc data mining for specific analytical needs
- Preparing, analyzing, and reporting on financial performance metrics
- Gathering and interpreting financial data for monthly senior management reports
- Creating reports and analysis using SQL, Excel Services, and Power BI
- Writing relational database SQL queries
You will need a post-secondary degree in business, accounting, computer science, or a related field, with a minimum of 3+ years of financial analysis experience. Experience in brokerage or investment management is required. Technical proficiency is essential: advanced Excel and Power BI skills, SQL query writing ability, and strong computer literacy across various software platforms. The ideal candidate combines exceptional problem-solving and creativity with strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills (bilingual English/French is an asset), and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, regulated environment. A CSC designation and business intelligence development experience are considered assets.
