Atoms is building Physical AI—real-world robots for industries that move civilization forward, starting with food, mining, and transport. The company integrates hardware, software, AI, operations, manufacturing, and real estate to deploy and scale robotic systems in real-world environments. As Building Design Manager, you will lead the design function for Atoms' physical infrastructure and deployment sites. You will manage 2-4 design associates and oversee 10-15 concurrent projects, ensuring design accuracy, coordination, and problem-solving across all phases. Key responsibilities include: • Manage multiple concurrent building/interior design projects with focus on test-fitting, modeling, and detailed drawings • Lead a small team of 2-4 associates, setting priorities and driving execution • Own design coordination and problem-solving across projects, working closely with development, product management, sales, and operations teams • Manage consultant relationships and deploy resources efficiently to support project delivery • Develop and apply regional standards for design, prototyping, design sequencing, and filing strategies • Navigate regulatory requirements by engaging with authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs) and setting local strategy on code compliance • Identify process improvements and efficiencies to scale the team's output • Raise, prioritize, and resolve gating issues that impact project timelines You will be based in Jakarta and work onsite five days per week. This role requires deep collaboration across Atoms' technical and operational teams to support the deployment of physical AI systems at scale. Required qualifications: 7-10 years of design experience with strong background in interiors, hospitality, food & beverage, or renovation/adaptive reuse; 2-3 years of people management experience; Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or related field; proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Adobe Suite; strong space-planning and architectural representation skills; ability to manage multiple projects with short timelines and coordinate architectural and engineering systems.
