As Brand Designer, you will own brand design projects end-to-end, creating high-quality creative assets that help technical audiences understand Tailscale's products and build trust. You'll work across web, campaigns, events, social media, presentations, product marketing, and internal communications. The role reports to the Team Lead and collaborates closely with Brand, Growth, Web, Content, Product Marketing, and Developer Relations teams.
Key responsibilities include designing production-ready creative across multiple channels, applying and extending Tailscale's visual identity to new formats, building reusable templates and design systems to improve consistency and efficiency, presenting design concepts to stakeholders, and balancing multiple concurrent projects. You'll contribute ideas to improve the quality and scalability of creative work and help establish processes that enable the team to scale without sacrificing quality.
You should have 3+ years of professional experience in brand, marketing, or visual design with a strong portfolio demonstrating mastery of color theory, accessibility, typography, layout, and storytelling. Fluency in Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud is required. You'll need experience designing for digital marketing, websites, campaigns, and brand systems, with strong understanding of production-ready design across digital and print. Excellent communication and presentation skills, ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal oversight, and comfort giving and receiving constructive feedback are essential. Experience with B2B SaaS or developer-focused products, design systems, motion design, illustration, or HTML/CSS is a plus. You should be curious about the technical world of networking and thrive in collaborative, fast-paced environments.
