As a Borrower Success Specialist, you will own a portfolio of borrower applications and drive them toward funding. You'll work directly with borrowers to understand barriers to completion and determine the right outreach strategy. This is a hands-on, quota-carrying role where commission is tied directly to funded loans.
Key responsibilities include: managing a portfolio of applications and prioritizing based on loan amount, funnel stage, time stalled, and conversion likelihood; reviewing borrower situations to identify blockers and determine next steps within lending policies; contacting borrowers via phone, email, and voicemail with adaptive approaches; explaining next steps and helping borrowers navigate application barriers; handling questions and objections with empathy and sound judgment; and escalating issues to Underwriting, Servicing, Operations, or other teams as needed.
You'll also contribute to product improvement by identifying recurring challenges through borrower conversations, sharing feedback with internal teams, and testing different support approaches. The role requires judgment, customer empathy, problem-solving skills, and ownership mentality. Leadership team experience includes veterans from Lending Club, Affirm, and Varo Money.
