Salary: CAD 55,000 - 70,000 / annual

The Bilingual Estates Specialist will join the Operations team, reporting to the Supervisor of Operations, Estates. This role is responsible for the review, preparation, settlement, and taxation filing of client estate accounts. The specialist will deliver on Service Level Agreements and work with partners to resolve escalations in an urgent and efficient manner.
Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Performing estates settlements, journal processing, and issuance of tax documents for estates accounts
- Addressing estate-related inquiries and issues per internal deadlines
- Ensuring all information and request channels are current and up to date (e.g., OSM requests, Laserfiche, mailbox)
- Proactively offering assistance and maintaining a positive attitude as a team member, working closely with other operational teams
- Reviewing current MFDA and IIROC estate settlement processes and making proactive recommendations for improvement
- Ensuring training checklists are up to date and current
- Providing regular status updates and immediately highlighting any backlog items so resources can be allocated
- Reviewing and ensuring MFDA and IIROC checklists, departmental procedures, and manuals are current per trustee or regulatory changes
- Actively participating in IIAC Committee meetings and remaining current on CRA, RQ, HRSDC, and trustee regulations
- Providing support to the Estates Contact Centre by proactively responding to partner inquiries with fast, friendly, and efficient service
- Resolving problems at first point of contact where possible

REQUIREMENTS:
- Post-secondary education
- Minimum 5 years' financial industry experience, preferably in Estates, Registered Plans, or Operations
- Industry knowledge of MFDA, IIROC, CRA, and RQ rules and regulations (preferred)
- Proactive problem-solving with strong analytical skills and ability to present recommendations for review and implementation
- Extremely detail-oriented and accurate with a focus on quality assurance
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Outstanding customer service focus
- Excellent time management and organizational skills with ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills in Word, Outlook, and Excel
- Experience with Dataphile (asset)
- Fluency (written and spoken) in English and French required to effectively communicate with partners, clients, and colleagues across Canada
- Ability to work EST/PST standard hours
