Distro is seeking a Benefits Manager to lead open enrollment operations and manage a team of open enrollment specialists. This role serves as the primary benefits contact for clients during open enrollment cycles and acts as an escalation point for service and technical challenges.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and managing a team of open enrollment specialists
- Serving as primary benefit contact for clients during open enrollment periods
- Supporting internal sub-departments (underwriting, system operations, client relations) with renewal preparation
- Validating client benefit plans for accuracy and performing quality checks on benefits data
- Ensuring regulatory compliance across all benefit offerings
- Presenting and delivering client renewals with minimal oversight
- Communicating and educating clients on all benefit offerings and products
- Working directly with insurance carriers and vendors on plan-specific questions
- Advising employees on benefit options and helping them navigate complex decisions
- Reviewing and providing reports using internal tools to track open enrollment progress
- Reviewing accuracy of employee benefits data within HRIS systems
- Performing post-enrollment validation and other assigned benefit administration tasks
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizational, analytical, and time management skills with proven ability to lead others. You should have experience with HRIS platforms and the ability to quickly learn new software systems. Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal—are essential, as is the ability to de-escalate roadblocks and manage complex projects with clear scope, timelines, and milestones.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or above
- 6-10 years of group benefits experience in the PEO industry (preferred)
