Island is hiring a Benefits and Compensation Manager to lead benefits administration and compensation programs for a fast-scaling organization. This role owns the strategic project to transition Island off its current PEO and build benefits and compensation operations in-house, with primary focus on US programs and global support as needed. You will report to the Senior HR Manager and partner regularly with Finance, Legal, and HR leadership across Dallas and Tel Aviv offices. Key responsibilities include: leading the PEO extraction project, coordinating timelines and stakeholders across HR, Finance, and Legal; partnering on benefits and compensation program design, benchmarking, merit cycles, and compensation philosophy; owning administration and communication of employee benefits, 401(k), and perquisite programs including annual renewal, open enrollment, COBRA administration, and compliance reporting; managing relationships with benefits brokers, carriers, third-party administrators, and the PEO through transition; administering leaves of absence (FMLA, state-specific, company programs, ADA accommodations); managing worker's compensation claims and return-to-work coordination; building and maintaining compensation structures including salary bands, job leveling, and pay equity analysis; supporting job offers, promotions, and compensation adjustments with market data; ensuring federal and multi-state compliance; and providing support on global benefits and compensation programs. You bring 5-7+ years of progressive benefits administration and compensation experience, with at least 3 years focused on compensation strategy or analysis. You have managed large-scale HR systems or vendor transitions with strong project management skills, deep knowledge of federal and multi-state regulatory compliance, hands-on HRIS and benefits administration experience, strong Excel and data modeling skills, and excellent communication ability to translate complex concepts for employees and managers. Bonus experience includes leading a PEO-to-in-house transition at a high-growth startup, familiarity with HiBob, TriNet, Deel, OpenComp, or Radford, supporting US and international populations, and thriving in fast-paced, hyper-growth startup environments.
