The Benefit Account Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing assigned client accounts throughout their lifecycle. This role bridges sales, implementation, and support teams to ensure high service levels and client satisfaction. Key responsibilities include coordinating implementation for new and renewing clients, conducting strategy meetings with business consultants, analyzing and negotiating group benefits and renewal rates with carriers, and managing the full renewal cycle from pre-renewal meetings through final delivery and benefit selection. Day-to-day duties involve requesting renewals from carriers, conducting pre-renewal and renewal meetings (in-person or virtual), negotiating renewal terms, quoting open market options when necessary, obtaining applications, monitoring benefit administration portals, and performing first bill audits. The Account Manager must ensure timely submission of all documentation (minimum 15 days prior to effective dates), maintain high levels of customer service and professionalism, provide 24-hour response times to client requests, and ensure clients remain compliant with benefits and contribution requirements. The role also involves managing COBRA filings and compliance documentation. Success requires strong relationship-building skills, deep knowledge of group benefits and payroll, excellent problem-solving and negotiation abilities, and the ability to travel for client meetings. The Account Manager must be highly organized, able to multitask, maintain discretion with sensitive information, and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders including clients, employees, and internal leadership. REQUIREMENTS: - 2–5 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of experience, skills, education (including non-traditional degree programs, certifications, or job training) - Bachelor's degree preferred - Health and Life Insurance License mandatory - Intermediate or higher knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe - Knowledge of employee benefits, compliance, and payroll - Ability to read, analyze, and interpret SBC, technical procedures, insurance regulations, and governmental regulations - Strong written and verbal communication skills - Strong organizational skills with ability to multitask and prioritize - Ability to work individually and as part of a team - Professional demeanor with integrity and credibility
