Salary: USD 100,000 - 160,000 / annual
Pliant is a modular B2B payments platform combining commercial card issuing, payment accounts, FX, and spend management. The company serves 5,000+ businesses and 40+ partners across Europe and the US, issuing commercial cards in 13 currencies across 32 countries.
As BDR Manager for the US, you will lead and develop Pliant's US Business Development team, reporting to the Head of Direct Sales, North America. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll coach BDRs, guide day-to-day prospecting, and actively contribute to outreach efforts.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead by example through active prospecting and effective outreach demonstrations
- Coach and develop BDRs with regular feedback, call reviews, and role-plays
- Guide day-to-day execution: prioritize accounts, organize outreach, and track goals
- Build quality pipeline focused on customer fit and conversion
- Test and refine messaging across calls, emails, and LinkedIn
- Collaborate with Sales and Marketing on target audiences and campaign follow-up
- Monitor activity and results using data to identify support needs
- Support hiring, assessment, and structured onboarding of new team members
- Build a collaborative culture emphasizing open feedback and accountability
You'll work remotely across US timezones (NY to California) and be comfortable with flexible scheduling.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 1-2+ years direct experience managing BDRs/SDRs with proven track record of achieving team quota goals and developing direct reports
- 4+ years in BDR, SDR, or similar B2B sales role with track record of generating qualified opportunities and meeting targets, preferably in fintech, payments, B2B, or travel verticals
- Experience mentoring, onboarding, or coaching colleagues as a manager, team lead, or strong IC ready for advancement
- Strong outbound prospecting skills: account research, cold calling, personalized outreach, objection handling
- Ability to give clear, constructive feedback and adapt coaching to different experience levels
- Hands-on mindset with willingness to test ideas and solve problems alongside team
- Proficiency with CRM systems and sales tools (HubSpot); structured approach to activity tracking and data accuracy
- Strong communication and organizational skills balancing individual contribution with supporting others
- Collaborative approach combining empathy, ownership, and clear expectations
