incident.io is an AI software reliability platform trusted by engineering teams at Netflix, Etsy, and 2,000+ companies. The company has raised $96 million from Index Ventures, Insight Partners, and Point Nine and is scaling rapidly. You will hire, train, and develop the BDR team as it scales significantly starting in January. You'll design and lead a comprehensive in-house training program for new hires, focusing on high-potential candidates and investing heavily in their development. Historically, incident.io's BDRs advance into commercial and enterprise rep roles, but you'll also build pathways into other GTM functions including rev ops, solutions engineering, expansion account management, and customer success. You view the BDR organization as the backbone of the hiring system. Your primary focus is the quality of candidates you bring in and how quickly you develop them. You'll own the pipeline number for your team, targeting potential champions within the ICP whose pain the product can actually solve. You'll serve as the team's voice at the top of the funnel, gathering insights from reps about market trends, objections, and pushback, and communicating these to sales, marketing, and product leadership. You'll hold your team accountable on follow-up and serve as marketing's point of contact for campaigns and events. As AI reshapes the BDR function, you'll identify high-performing plays—whether AI-driven or creative—and scale them across the team. You'll work from the San Francisco office and help build something new rather than inherit an existing structure. REQUIREMENTS: - Proven track record leading a BDR or SDR team that hit numbers, closed pipeline, and promoted reps - Strong performance management skills: high bar-setting, clear feedback, and effective development planning - Genuine passion for developing people and building bench strength - Hands-on experience building with AI tools; deep understanding of their capabilities and limitations - Strong business acumen and curiosity about why things work - Background as a top-performing sales rep before management - Ideally, experience at a company selling technical products to engineering teams in infrastructure, dev tools, observability, or data platforms - Willingness to build from the ground up in the San Francisco office
