Berkshire Grey is seeking an Automation Installation Manager to lead the installation and deployment of advanced automation technology on customer sites. This role bridges engineering, operations, and customer success, requiring hands-on leadership of complex hardware installations from start-up through handoff to the System Engineering team. Key responsibilities include: leading installation deployments and managing installation contractors and BG engineers on-site; ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local building and safety codes; managing customer relationships and coordinating with local building management; driving cross-functional collaboration with internal stakeholders to meet installation criteria; tracking project operational and budgetary metrics; developing standardization processes to reduce installation time and cost; overseeing customer training and system integration; and providing real-time support to prevent project stoppages. The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of construction or installation management experience (8+ preferred), with a BS in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or similar technical field. Required skills include demonstrated experience managing hardware installations and commissioning industrial equipment; leading engineering teams; managing construction contractors; knowledge of safety standards; ability to read CAD drawings and electrical schematics; understanding of warehouse management systems and IT hardware; strong customer management experience; and excellent communication and multitasking abilities. Preferred qualifications include project management experience, robotics/industrial automation/manufacturing background, competence in mechanical/electrical/software systems, and familiarity with project management tools (MS Project, Smartsheets) or engineering defect tracking software (JIRA). This is a 100% travel role requiring deployment to customer sites across the country. The position does not include direct reports but involves managing on-site resources and coordinating multiple stakeholders. Not eligible for visa sponsorship.
