Oscar Health is seeking an Associate, Risk & Compliance to join its Compliance team. Oscar is a technology-driven health insurance company founded in 2012, combining a full-stack platform with a focus on member experience.
In this role, you will ensure Oscar complies with industry specifications, standards, regulations, and laws. You will review operational practices, create and enforce procedures, and perform regulatory reviews across the organization. Key responsibilities include partnering with departments to maintain compliance levels, providing training to team members on regulatory requirements, developing and implementing compliance improvement plans, delegating tasks to bring compliance levels up, developing reports for governing bodies, assisting regulatory authorities with site visits and external audits, and conducting regular audits to ascertain compliance levels.
You will report to the Manager, Regulatory Audit Compliance and work in a hybrid arrangement with 3 days per week in the Tempe office (Thursdays required for team meetings, plus two flexible days).
Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience, 1+ years in health plan compliance, and 2+ years with State DOI health insurance rules/regulations, CMS ACA rules, and managing high-volume complex projects. Bonus experience includes MLR/HCRA/CMS APTC audit experience, healthcare finance background, relevant certifications (CHC, CCEC), State DOI audit obligations, and health tech or startup environment experience.
The base pay range is $87,188–$114,434 annually, with eligibility for benefits including medical, dental, vision, 11 paid holidays, paid sick time, parental leave, 401(k), life/disability insurance, and wellness reimbursements. Unlimited vacation program and annual performance bonuses are also available.
