Oscar Health is seeking an Associate, Risk/Compliance to join its Compliance team. Oscar is a health insurance company built on a full-stack technology platform, founded in 2012 with a mission to deliver healthcare like a doctor in the family.
In this role, you will ensure Oscar complies with industry specifications, standards, regulations, and laws. You will review operational practices, create and enforce procedures, and perform regulatory reviews across the organization. Reporting to the Manager, Regulatory Audit Compliance, you will be responsible for:
• Partnering with all relevant departments to assess and maintain current compliance levels
• Providing training to team members on regulatory compliance requirements and procedures
• Developing and implementing compliance improvement plans where needed
• Delegating tasks to other departments to elevate compliance standards
• Developing reports for the governing body
• Assisting regulatory authorities with site visits and external audits
• Conducting regular audits in all required areas to verify compliance levels
• Preparing for and conducting audits alongside external authorities
You will need a Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience, plus 1+ years in health plan compliance. You must have 2+ years of experience with State Department of Insurance health insurance rules and regulations, CMS ACA rules and requirements, and 2+ years managing high-volume, complex projects with strong attention to detail.
Bonus qualifications include MLR, HCRA, and CMS APTC audit experience; healthcare finance background; compliance certifications (CHC, CCEC); fluency with State DOI audit and reporting obligations; State DOI audit management experience; and background in startups, health tech, or TPA settings.
