Pulley is an AI-powered permitting intelligence platform that helps architects, builders, and retailers accelerate commercial projects across the US. The company addresses a critical pain point: permitting is the slowest and most uncertain phase of building, fragmented across 19,000+ jurisdictions with varying rules and timelines. Pulley's platform combines deep permitting expertise with purpose-built AI to reduce approval timelines, improve forecasting accuracy, and eliminate thousands of hours of manual work.
As an Associate Project Manager in Permitting, you will support Pulley's in-house permitting team—a core function driving fast, reliable outcomes for customers like J.Crew, Solidcore, and Hibbett Sports, as well as major data center buildouts and EV charging networks.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting lead project managers in delivering strong permitting outcomes
- Conducting permit research with high accuracy across multiple jurisdictions
- Assisting in preparing permit plans and documentation
- Collaborating with city staff to navigate nuances and ambiguities in local requirements
- Monitoring permit status and ensuring timely responses to municipal requests
- Providing feedback to product and engineering teams to refine the software platform
- Working with permitting leadership to develop and refine standard operating procedures
You bring 2+ years of experience in construction management or architecture with a focus on project management. You have hands-on experience applying for and obtaining construction permits, strong research skills, and comfort interfacing with city staff and administrative processes. You are detail-oriented, a clear communicator, and a proactive problem solver. California residency is required.
