Salary: USD 95,000 - 115,000 / annual
Via is transforming public transportation through technology. This Associate General Manager role leads the end-to-end rebuild of Via's transit service in Tulare, CA—a greenfield operation requiring strategic vision, operational discipline, and team leadership simultaneously.
You will own complete responsibility for service performance, financial outcomes, partner relationships, team culture, and long-term trajectory. This is a foundational role where your decisions will shape how the service operates for years.
Key responsibilities include: developing and communicating a clear vision for the transit service; building new operating systems, staffing models, and service cadences from scratch; establishing accountability structures and culture; owning end-to-end operating strategy including on-time performance, rider experience, safety, and cost efficiency; defining and managing KPIs; designing 24/7 staffing and scheduling strategies; ensuring regulatory compliance; building and coaching a frontline operations team; developing frontline leaders; and maintaining partner and community stakeholder relationships.
You will be present in the field daily, visible to drivers, and serve as the face of operations to the community. The role requires someone comfortable with high responsibility, rapid change, and ambiguity in a fast-paced tech environment.
Required: 3+ years leading complex operations, bachelor's degree, strategic thinking with data-driven decision-making, exceptional team leadership experience, strong communication skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
