Salary: USD 85,000 - 130,000 / annual
Via is transforming transportation through technology, operating shared mobility services at scale. As Associate General Manager on the Operations team, you will manage day-to-day operations of a transportation service in Sacramento, leading a team of field operators and drivers.
You will be responsible for ensuring safe, reliable, and accessible transportation by making real-time decisions about fleet management, driver supply, compliance, and service quality. Key responsibilities include managing the full employee lifecycle for drivers (scheduling, PTO, performance management, policy adherence), optimizing driver work schedules to meet demand, and serving as the operational liaison between city partners, drivers, unions, and community organizations.
You will use data and technology to diagnose operational problems, implement efficiency improvements, and enhance rider experience. You'll ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and company regulations, and lead a team of drivers by coaching, developing, and fostering a collaborative work environment.
This is a fully in-person role requiring 4-5 days per week onsite in Sacramento, with potential for early mornings or evenings. You will operate with significant autonomy and responsibility in a fast-paced environment.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 4-6 years of operations management experience
- Bachelor's degree required
- Proven experience leading and managing support/operations teams
- Strong communication skills with ability to adapt tone to different stakeholders
- Detail-oriented, action-oriented executor with problem-solving mindset
- Flexible and adaptable to rapid change
- Based in Sacramento, CA area or willing to relocate
