Cellanome, a well-funded biotech startup, is seeking an Associate Director of Supply Chain to lead the organization, systems, and processes for supply chain management, material control, and logistics. Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Operations & Corporate Development, this is an onsite role based in Foster City, CA (with a secondary San Diego office option and expectation of frequent travel if based there).
You will own the end-to-end sourcing, purchasing, planning, inventory management, and logistics strategy, building strong internal and external partnerships. Key responsibilities include building and managing supply chain and logistics teams to support commercial ramp schedules; overseeing direct and indirect spend in partnership with Finance; identifying and managing strategic partners for development projects; managing supplier and CMO relationships through onboarding, negotiation, and performance monitoring; and handling domestic and international shipping operations including 3PL, freight forwarder, and customs broker relationships.
You will manage the S&OP process, oversee supply risks and inventory levels, and ensure compliance with customs, import/export, and global trade documentation requirements (HTS classification, COO determination, tariff management, DG shipping, customs documentation). You'll drive execution of the supply chain roadmap, identify process and system gaps as the company scales, develop dual sourcing and business continuity strategies, and support global product launches. You'll be accountable for supply chain and logistics performance through KPIs and metrics, and collaborate with leadership on strategic planning.
Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business administration, operations, or related field; 15+ years progressive supply chain and logistics experience with 7+ years in management; 5+ years with complex electromechanical equipment in manufacturing/service environments; deep knowledge of materials-related processes; solid working knowledge of regulatory requirements (ISO, FDA, QMS, Customs); expert-level ERP (NetSuite) and MRP implementation experience; excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills; and experience in both domestic and international transportation and logistics. Up to 20% travel required.
