As Associate Director of Strategic Finance, you will report to the Head of Strategic Finance and operate as a senior leader driving Airwallex's financial strategy and influencing company-wide decision-making. This highly visible role offers direct exposure to executive leadership and board-level visibility.
Key responsibilities include: owning strategic financial planning processes (long-range planning, annual budgeting, forecasting); driving company-level financial insights and narratives for board meetings and investor communications; leading capital strategy and allocation decisions; partnering with senior leadership (Product, GTM, Operations) to evaluate major strategic initiatives such as market entry, product investments, and pricing strategies; overseeing business performance analysis and accountability; building and mentoring the Strategic Finance team; driving cross-functional initiatives to improve financial visibility and decision-making frameworks; and enhancing finance infrastructure and reporting systems for a global scaling organization.
You are both a strategic thinker and operator—comfortable building detailed financial models, crafting executive narratives, and leading cross-functional initiatives. You bring strong business judgment, bias for action, and ability to scale impact through others.
Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Finance or related field; 8+ years in strategic finance, management consulting, investment banking, or private equity; proven senior-level experience influencing executives and driving company-wide initiatives; advanced financial modeling skills; strong strategic thinking and problem-solving ability; excellent communication and stakeholder management skills including board-level presentations; demonstrated leadership and mentoring experience; strong commercial acumen and understanding of business performance drivers in scaling companies.
Preferred: experience in high-growth technology environments; background from top-tier management consulting, investment banking, or private equity; capital markets, fundraising, or IPO readiness experience.
