Bicara Therapeutics, a clinical-stage biotech company pioneering bifunctional antibodies for targeted tumor modulation, seeks an Associate Director of Financial Planning & Analysis for Development. This role provides critical financial support to R&D pipeline activities and global manufacturing/CMC/supply chain operations from study planning through product development, launch, and lifecycle management.
Key responsibilities include serving as a financial business partner to Development, Clinical Operations, Technical Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, Regulatory, and Program Management functions. You will manage annual budgeting, long-range planning, and forecast projections; support analytics and reporting to drive budget accuracy and identify variances; build and monitor KPIs that predict outcomes and identify risks; and ensure consistency between functional planning assumptions and financial projections.
You will translate complex clinical and manufacturing/supply chain concepts and their financial impacts to senior management; monitor operating results across vendor sites; partner with Clinical Operations and R&D leaders to manage the financial lifecycle of clinical trials, including trial forecasting, enrollment-based modeling, and site-level cost analysis; conduct scenario planning and evaluate trial vendor contracts; and provide financial analysis and modeling to support manufacturing and supply chain decision-making.
Additional responsibilities include supporting commercial launch planning and lifecycle management, managing the budget/forecast consolidation process in Adaptive Planning (Workday), assisting with system maintenance, identifying opportunities to streamline and automate reporting, and conducting ad hoc financial analysis and strategic modeling.
Required qualifications: BS in Finance/Accounting; 6+ years of relevant experience with at least 2+ years as a finance business partner; prior biotech/life sciences industry experience with familiarity of product development stages; in-depth knowledge of clinical (CRO) and external manufacturing/CMC/supply chain in biotech/life sciences; strong financial modeling and reporting experience; demonstrated collaborative business partnering with senior leaders; ability to distill complex topics into management-level narratives; strong attention to detail; expertise in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; and experience with financial planning software such as Adaptive Planning.
The role is based in Boston and follows a hybrid schedule with three in-office days per week.
