Mirum Pharmaceuticals seeks an Associate Director of Event Planning to lead strategic planning, execution, and continuous improvement of key commercial and internal events supporting the company's rare disease portfolio. This is a hands-on leadership role combining direct ownership of complex events with responsibility for advancing event planning standards, processes, and best practices across the organization. Key responsibilities include end-to-end planning and execution of commercial events (National Meetings, Launch Meetings, Awards Programs), priority Tier 1 and Tier 2 medical congresses, advisory boards, and executive dinners. The role requires partnering closely with Commercial, Medical, Operations, Marketing, Advocacy, and Global teams to ensure events align with commercial strategy and company values. You will lead cross-functional planning meetings, manage relationships with external logistics and event vendors, oversee budget and contract management, and ensure compliance with HCP, legal, and regulatory requirements. Responsibilities include congress calendar evaluation and prioritization, serving as business owner for commercial field exhibits and sponsorships, and developing innovative solutions to improve event efficiency and stakeholder experience. The role requires producing pre-event communications and post-event reporting including metrics, surveys, and budget reconciliation. Travel is approximately 50% domestically with some international travel, including pre-event setup, onsite execution, and occasional weekend responsibilities. Required qualifications: 7+ years of event planning experience with significant biotech/pharmaceutical industry background or corporate agency experience supporting biopharma clients. Demonstrated experience leading complex internal events and major congresses. Prior people-management experience leading, coaching, and developing event planning professionals with ability to set priorities and delegate effectively.
