Lila Sciences seeks an Associate Director or Director of Strategic Finance to lead complex financial workstreams at the center of the company's growth strategy. This role owns the full lifecycle of multi-year commercial partnerships, from structuring and modeling economics (platform fees, usage-based pricing, royalties, milestone gates) through negotiation, execution, and revenue recognition. You'll operate as the connective tissue between Commercial, Legal, Science, and Finance teams on live deals, managing operational cadence, tracking issues, sequencing workstreams, and keeping stakeholders aligned from term sheet to signature.
You'll also support end-to-end fundraising: cap table modeling, SAFE mechanics, pro forma analysis, round structuring, data room management, diligence coordination, and investor-facing materials. Partner with senior leadership on revenue forecasting by customer segment and product line, and on capital allocation decisions weighing scientific priorities, market opportunity, and expected returns. Build deal comparables and competitive pricing benchmarks to inform negotiation strategy. Support revenue recognition analysis for multi-element arrangements, including option rights, cost-sharing, and milestone-based contracts. Develop scalable tools, templates, and financial models that raise analytical rigor and deal velocity across the team.
This is a high-visibility role with regular exposure to executive, board, and investor-level work on a small, senior, fast-moving team. You'll operate with high ownership in a resource-constrained environment, moving fast with an 80/20 mindset while knowing when precision matters. The role requires 6–10+ years in investment banking, corporate development, venture capital, growth equity, or strategic finance, with strong startup or scale-up experience. You'll need demonstrated expertise structuring and negotiating complex commercial agreements, fluency in venture financing mechanics (SAFEs, priced rounds, cap tables, liquidation preferences), working knowledge of ASC 606 revenue recognition, strong financial modeling skills, and proven ability to drive cross-functional workstreams.
